Programs and services that work to reduce the risk of injury, chronic disease and improve health
- Food and Healthy Eating Online information and connection to resources related to food and healthy eating for children, youth, adults, parents and older adults
- Injury Prevention Website with tips for keeping children and adults safe * programs and education for the community regarding injury prevention
- Oral Health Dental preventative services for qualifying children and youth 17 years of age and younger * includes cleanings, sealants and fluoride treatments * other services offered include oral screenings for Healthy Smiles Ontario and fluoride varnish applications in pre-school and elementary school settings
- Parenting Website with information about everyday parenting concerns, parenting styles, growth and development of children and parenting groups and classes * videos and interactive tools
- Smoke-Free Ontario and Tobacco Control Enforces the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017 through inspections of enclosed workplaces, public places, schools and other places that are required to be smoke- and vapour-free * inspectors conduct inspections at tobacco and vapour product retailers to ensure vendor compliance with youth access and product promotion restrictions
- Tobacco Quit Clinic (The) Monthly workshops for people who want to quit smoking and are able to use nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) * workshops include a one-hour group presentation and an appointment with a Cessation Specialist who will provide 5 weeks of free NRT product and individualized advice/support
