Comprehensive diabetes education for people living with type 2 diabetes and those at risk of developing diabetes (pre-diabetes)
The program and services are provided by certified diabetes nurse educators and certified diabetes registered dietitians * group or private appointments are available
Educating people with type 2 diabetes to:

Contact the Diabetes Education Program for information. In person appointments are available if required. Currently individual appointments are in person, by phone or Zoom
Diabetes Community Outreach: diabetes health education provided at community locations (religious, community organization, school, or work place), for groups of five or more adults living with Type 2 Diabetes or Pre-Diabetes

- reduce risk of complications
- deal with emotions connected to the disease
- manage blood sugar levels
- cope with stress
- control weight
- prevent and manage foot problems
- take medications correctly
- develop a healthy eating plan
- meet and learn from other people with diabetes
Educates people at risk of developing diabetes to:
- reduce blood sugar levels
- lose weight
- label read /make healthy food choices
- create a realistic physical activity plan
- take medications correctly
