Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Hospital services available at Dryden Regional Health Centre in Dryden
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police Services, Kenora East Region; main headquarters ph: 807-548-5474; fax: 807-548-2119
  • Child & Family Services provided by Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services, Kenora office ph: 807-468-6224, fax: 807-468-6643
  • Provides a Community Hall and hosts annual spring Community Feasts at hall
  • Publishes a monthly newsletter
  • Offers a wood products company called Makoose Wood Innovations, privately-owned by Wabauskang member
  • Serviced by air through Ear Falls Airport, located 13 km NW of Ear Falls
  • Offers a Day Care Centre for child care
  • Administers education services under Bimose Tribal Council for students attending school outside of the community
  • Supports a Public Library for community members
  • Operates a Volunteer Fire Department
  • Provides health care and health programs at Wabauskang Health Office
