The program works in conjunction with the hospital Emergency Department
- When an individual is admitted to the Emergency Department, the Triage Nurse or Emergency Room Nurse will provide information on the services of the Sexual Assault/Partner Abuse program
- Upon arriving one may also ask to talk with the Nurse Examiner from the Sexual Assault/Partner Abuse and SafeKids program
- The emergency room staff will contact the on-call Nurse

Description des services:
Provides services to victims/survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and sexual/physical violence
- Responds to physical, psychological, social and medico-legal needs
- Provides community education
- Crisis counselling
- Immediate and follow-up nursing care
- Medical care and treatment of injuries
- Sexual Assault Evidence Kit by request
- Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and treatment
- Collaboration, liaison with other community agencies to provide child sexual assault and physical abuse services
