Description of Services

General education for service providers abut acquired brain injury (including stroke) * training for individuals and teams to better support and interact with clients who experience behavioural, cognitive, and social challenges after an acquired brain injury

BEST (Behaviour, Education, Support and Training) Team provides more intensive form of clinical consultation and intervention for community agencies, long-term care, and hospitals * available when experiencing a crisis situation, when living arrangement or placement is at risk, or where caregiver capacity or available resources may be limited * services include assessment, development of individualized strategies and behaviour support plans, education, direct coaching, mentoring, and training * also provides transitional services from hospital to long-term care
