Description of Services

Community Mental Health Counselors (CMHC) in the General Mental Health stream work with individuals who are:

16 years of age or older
have been diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness
require assistance in order to live in the community
willing and ready to work collaboratively with CMHC

Counselors in the General Mental Health stream have the knowledge and familiarity with community resources and provide:

strength based recovery model
supportive counseling and health training
work in partnership with other community agencies in providing services
