Current clients - Speak with child's therapist about referral and fill out referral questionnaire together
Non-current clients - Fill out questionnaire together with community therapist * families should call if they don't have a community therapist

Eligibility / Target Population
Children and youth who are unable to communicate effectively trough speech and writing
Face-to-Face Communication - People who are non-verbal or who are verbal but are not understood and are purposefully using 20+ symbols for their daily needs
Face-to-Face Communication - Access - People who are non-verbal or not understood and have difficulty physically reaching or pointing symbols which affects the number of symbols they use to communicate * must have known preferences and be using symbols to intentionally communicate
Writing - People who have a physical disability that affects their ability to write and/or type, and have the literacy skills to write and have home writing needs but are unable to use pencil and paper and are unable to use a standard keyboard and mouse

Description of Services
Assessment and consultation services for children and youth who are unable to communicate effectively using speech or writing * team includes speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, communication disorders assistants, rehabilitation technologists, and a written communication instructor * clinicians may prescribe a variety of augmentative strategies, including technology to support face-to-face and written communication that be can be bought or leased for home and community use
