Description of Services
Ensures the safety and security of all children who are registered, eligible to be registered and community members of Oneida Nation of the Thames
- Enforcing the Child, Youth and Family Services Act
- Responding to protection applications
- Working with Children’s Aid Society during investigations
- Participating and responding to child protection hearings
- Ensuring that cultural values are adhered to during Children’s Aid investigations
- Implementing cultural programming that impacts children and teaches them about Oneida heritage and tradition
- Assist families in navigating the child welfare process through referrals to legal services
- Acts as a party in all child welfare court proceedings and meetings with case workers
- Provides referrals to other Indigenous programs and services
