Description of Services
Newcomer settlement agency and intercultural education resource centre * advocacy and assistance in accessing local medical, education, and social services
- Community Connections Groups and programs for newcomer youth and adults to make social connections, learn skills, and engage with their new community
- Joseph's House Temporary for newly arrived refugee claimants * helps clients with:
- Language Assessment and Referral Services (LARS) Initial language assessments for newcomers to determine their current level of ability with the English language * team will then provide clients with information and referral to the English as a Second Language program
- Settlement Services Orientation services for newcomers on government and community services, education, employment, housing, and language
