Description of Services

Full-service acute care community hospital that offers a comprehensive range of services including 24/7 emergency care, maternal newborn and pediatrics, medicine, surgery, intensive care, diagnostic imaging, medical education, mental health, rehabilitation and geriatrics * 457 inpatient beds

Inpatient services include:
  • Acute Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit
  • Complex Continuing Care Unit
  • Geriatric Assessment and Rehabilitation Service
  • Transitional Reactivation Unit
  • Rehabilitation Services to Acute Programs

Outpatient services include outpatient clinics and community programs * hosts a number of regional programs including renal dialysis, cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes education, eating disorders program, cancer clinics

Patients experiencing a medical emergency are advised to call 911 * call Health811 at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions

  • Emergency Department Emergency room care * doctors, nurses, and other health professionals assess and treat life-threatening injuries or severe illness
    • all patients are initially triaged by a registered nurse and are seen on a priority-basis, not a first-come first-served basis
    • all patients are assessed and prioritized using the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS), based on the patient’s complaint and the signs and symptoms they may be exhibiting
