Description of Services
Healthy Babies Healthy Children is a free, voluntary program for
pregnant women and families with young children up to the child’s
transition to school
Eligible people may receive home visits from a public health nurse and family visitor
Home visits will help you learn about:
Dental Health
Dental care: basic dental care for children and youth up to 18 years * limited emergency dental care for adults for those who meet the eligibility requirements
Healthy Smiles Ontario: free regular dental care for children and youth under 17 years who meet low income eligibility requirements
Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program: free dental care for older adults 65 years of age and older who meet low income eligibility requirements
Discretionary Program: limited financial assistance for denture services to individuals receiving Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program benefits
Eligible people may receive home visits from a public health nurse and family visitor
Home visits will help you learn about:
- having a healthy pregnancy and birth
- connecting with your baby
- how children grow and develop
- being a parent
- breastfeeding, food and healthy eating
- taking care of yourself and your family
- other services available to you and your child in the community
