Labour, Delivery and Postpartum Care
The Labour and Delivery Unit offers access to birthing care supported by a team of highly trained obstetricians, midwives, family practitioners, nurses, paediatricians, neonatologists and social workers
Postpartum care empowers the family to become independent in caring for the new baby and prepares the family for discharge
A baby born prematurely or needing specialized care is transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where a paediatrician or neonatologist, registered nurse and others, provide care for the baby
Location: Park in Lot 7 and enter through the main entrance. Take the snow elevators to the third level, Labour and Delivery Unit
Online prenatal and postnatal classes
A series of prenatal classes to support expectant parents and their support person. All prenatal classes will be offered in a virtual format, at no cost to registrants and provide parents and families an opportunity to learn and prepare for birth and the care of their newborn. All classes are live and interactive and facilitated by registered nurses experienced in maternal and newborn care
