The Endoscopy Clinic does not accept referrals * Physicians should refer patients to one of the clinic's specialist physicians, who will then refer the patients to the clinic as needed

Eligibility / Target Population

Typical patients are 50 years of age or older, presenting with upper or lower GI issues that require investigation

Description of Services

A wide range of services are offered by specialists in gastroenterology, general surgery, colorectal surgery and thoracic surgery

  • Bronchoscopy - a look inside the respiratory tract (lungs, and bronchial tree) and taking of tissue samples
  • Colonoscopy - a look inside the colon and small bowel that allows for the examination of the tissues and lining, taking of samples and removal of polyps if needed
  • Fecal Immunochemical Testing (FTI) - screening tests that checks the stool for tiny drops of blood that can be caused by colorectal cancer or some pre-cancerous polyps
  • Gastroscopy - check up of the upper digestive tract (esophagus, stomach and small bowel) that allows for the examination of tissues/lining and taking of samples


Endoscopy Clinic: provides services to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with various gastro-intestinal (GI) symptoms and conditions. A flexible scope is used to examine the inside of the esophagus, stomach or intestines. Bronchoscopies are also conducted to diagnose and treat Respirology patients. The endoscopy team works closely with the surgical department to monitor patient progress and expedite recovery
