parent(s), guardians, administrators and substitute decision makers are encouraged to submit a registration using the online application available

anyone who does not have access to the internet is encouraged to visit any of the district police stations for assistance in registering

Description of Services

A voluntary service offered throughout Halton Region that allows a family member and/or caregivers of vulnerable persons to submit critical information to Halton Regional Police Service that may be used during an emergency situation

a Vulnerable Person is defined as a person who due to a medical, mental health or physical condition, may exhibit patterns of behaviour that may pose a danger to themselves or to others
could include an inclination to wander, the inability to communicate, fascinations or attractions (water, construction sites, etc.) and social responses (fear of strangers, aggression)
may include persons with Alzheimer's disease, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Acquired Brain Injury or a mental condition that causes a person to exhibit the above behaviours

contact information
recent photograph of the individual (optional)
medical condition
de-escalation techniques
tendencies/routines
registry information is updated annually
information is only available to HRPS personnel in the performance of their duties
