Description of Services

Supports to help Deaf and hard of hearing newcomers transition to life in Canada

Settlement Counselling - Assistance with:
  • accessing health services
  • completing applications and forms
  • technical devices and accessibility tools
  • tasks of daily living
  • understanding the legal system
  • understanding paperwork and correspondence
  • using public transit

Newcomer Employment Counselling - Help for Deaf and hard of hearing newcomers to find work * services may include:
  • career exploration
  • health and safety training
  • interview skills development
  • job coaching
  • job search strategies
  • resume and cover letter writing

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) - Deaf and hard of hearing newcomers learn American Sign Language and written English, and gain life skills to help integrate into Canada
