Description of Services
Provides timely and coordinated access to breast assessment and diagnostic services to all patients of all ages, including the OBSP High-Risk referral program, by offering comprehensive care and using state-of-the art equipment
Diagnostic imaging services - Includes digital mammography, special view, breast ultrasound, stereotactic core biopsy, ultrasound guided core biopsy and needle localization * must be referred by primary care provider
Surgical consultation services - Includes the care and treatment recommendations * must be referred by primary care provider
Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) - Women age 40-74 with no acute breast symptoms can book their own mammogram * no physician referral requires
High-Risk Screening (OBSP) - Women between 30-69 years of age with no acute breast symptoms but meet one of the high-risk criteria * must be referred by their family physician
