Description of Services

Social assistance program that provides employment assistance and financial support for basic needs

Basic Financial Assistance (Ontario Works)
  • short term income assistance for the cost of shelter and basic needs
  • offers limited emergency assistance and discretionary benefits

Employment Assistance
  • helps individuals become and stay employed
  • provides assistance with job search, basic education, employment placement, skills training, community participation
  • assistance may be provided to client to cover certain related expenses such as transportation, childcare and clothing
