Lake of The Woods District Hospital - Sexual Assault, Partner Abuse and Safe Kids Program

The program works in conjunction with the hospital Emergency Department

When an individual is admitted to the Emergency Department, the Triage Nurse or Emergency Room Nurse will provide information on the services of the Sexual Assault/Partner Abuse program
Upon arriving one may also ask to talk with the Nurse Examiner from the Sexual Assault/Partner Abuse and SafeKids program
The emergency room staff will contact the on-call Nurse

Provides services to victims/survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and sexual/physical violence

Coordinates direct services including:

Crisis counselling
Immediate and follow-up nursing care
Medical care and treatment of injuries
Sexual Assault Evidence Kit by request
Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and treatment
Collaboration, liaison with other community agencies to provide child sexual assault and physical abuse services
