Administers health promotion and disease prevention programs
Promotes the health of the communities served by enabling people to increase control over the determinants of health
Prevents the occurrence and spread of disease and reduces resulting disability
Protects the health of the community by eliminating or reducing health hazards
Collaborates with individuals, service providers, organizations, agencies and other health units
Promotes equitable access to health programs and services
Participates in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education
Participates in evaluation and research to address current community questions and issues, including the dissemination and incorporation of results into programs and services
